girl in the box
In 1968, Ruth Eisemann-Schier made history as the first woman to end up on the FBI’s Most Wanted List, after she and her boy- friend kidnapped a millionaire’s daughter and held her for ransom by burying her underground in a plexiglass coffin.
The show premiered at the St-Ambroise Montreal Fringe Festival in June 2018, where it was nominated for Best English Production.
Girl in the Box was remounted in 2019 as a part of Live Five's 2019/2020 season, thanks to the developmental support of the Saskatchewan Playwrights Centre. The show won Outstanding Lighting Design by Amberlin Hsu at the 2021 Saskatoon Area Theatre Awards, where it was nominated for 5 awards, including Best Original Script.
